Viking Round Shield “SLEIPNIR” in Wood with Nordic Horse Motif

The Viking round shield “SLEIPNIR” is an impressive piece for anyone looking to combine Nordic-inspired decoration with the characteristic appearance of a large round shield. Its front is painted with stylised horse motifs that give the shield a distinctive visual character.

The round shield is made from sturdy laminated plywood. At the centre of the front is a domed steel shield boss, complemented by four decorative cast brass fittings. Their metallic appearance provides an attractive contrast to the painted surface of the shield.

The outer edge is covered with leather, enhancing the shield's rustic appearance. A solid wooden handle is fitted to the reverse for holding the shield.

With its combination of wood, leather, steel and brass together with its Nordic-inspired horse decoration, “SLEIPNIR” makes a striking addition to Viking and medieval portrayals. It is suitable for reenactment, living history, LARP and costumes as well as a decorative collector's piece or an impressive prop for photography, theatre, film and television productions.
