Small Birka Viking Knife with Carbon Steel Blade and Valknut Design
With its carbon steel blade and elaborately crafted handle made of wood, animal bone and brass, this handcrafted Viking Age knife combines functionality with a distinctive historical appearance. Whether displayed as a decorative collector's piece or used as a stylish everyday utility knife, this compact knife combines Norse-inspired design with practical usability.
The wooden handle is framed at both ends by bone inserts decorated with engraved Valknut designs. A brass collar forms the transition to the blade, while the brass pommel cap at the end of the handle features a practical eyelet. This can be used to attach a carrying cord and also makes it easier to draw the knife from its sheath.
The sheath is made of tanned leather and fitted with elaborately decorated brass fittings as well as a carrying attachment. This allows the compact Viking utility knife to be conveniently carried on a belt.
With its combination of carbon steel, wood, bone and brass, this knife is an attractive addition to Viking and medieval portrayals.
