Viking Round Shield “LEIF” in Wood – White Blank for Custom Painting
The Viking round shield “LEIF” provides a versatile foundation for creating a shield according to your own ideas. Instead of a predetermined painted design, the round shield features a neutral white surface, leaving plenty of room for your choice of colours, motifs, symbols or heraldic designs.
The shield body is constructed from sturdy laminated plywood. Its surface is covered with canvas, firmly bonded to the wood and already primed in white, providing a practical base for further individual decoration.
Whether you prefer Nordic-inspired ornaments, rune motifs, animal designs, geometric patterns or your own coat of arms, the appearance can be adapted to suit your equipment or historical portrayal. This makes “LEIF” particularly interesting for reenactment, living history, LARP and medieval events as well as individually designed display and decorative pieces.
At the centre of the shield is an opening for the supplied steel shield boss. The boss is delivered unmounted and must be attached by the customer using the screws supplied with the shield.
A horizontal wooden grip runs across the opening on the reverse. Once the steel boss has been installed, this creates the characteristic round-shield construction with a protected gripping area behind the central boss.
