Sword of Baldur – Nordic Viking sword by Windlass

In Norse mythology, Baldur is one of the most renowned gods of Asgard. As the son of Odin and Frigg, he was regarded as a symbol of light, purity and honor. His death is among the most tragic events described in the Eddas and is considered a forewarning of Ragnarök.

The Sword of Baldur by Windlass was designed as a tribute to this legendary figure of Norse mythology. Its form is inspired by classic Viking swords and combines historical elements with symbolic details.

The double-edged blade made from 1065 carbon steel features etched runes representing the name Baldur. The leather-covered grip also bears carefully engraved rune symbols associated with courage, protection and strength – qualities linked to Baldur himself.

The wooden scabbard is covered in black suede and decorated with high-quality leather fittings on the chape and throat. Incorporated sun symbols reference Baldur’s role as the radiant light of Asgard. An integrated belt allows the scabbard to be worn comfortably.

This Viking sword is ideal as a collector’s piece, decorative display item or prop for Viking and medieval reenactment.
