The Norman sword “ROGER” is part of Hanwei's Tinker sword series and is offered here in the blunt version intended for reenactment and staged combat. Its classic cross-shaped guard and characteristic Brazil-nut pommel give the sword the distinctive appearance associated with medieval Norman swords.

The Tinker Norman sword was designed in both sharpened and blunt versions. Both variants are similar in terms of weight and balance and provide nearly identical handling characteristics. The harmonious balance of the blunt version offered here is particularly suited to the requirements of reenactors and staged combat.

The blade is forged from 5160 spring steel, a carbon steel, and carefully heat-treated using a marquenching process. This results in a Rockwell hardness of approximately 50–52 HRC. The heat treatment provides a balanced combination of strength and flexibility while helping to prevent excessive burr formation on the blunt reenactment blade.

The grip also features a functional construction. Its sturdy wooden core is wrapped with cord and then covered in leather. The characteristic Brazil-nut pommel is securely peened in place, providing a solid finish to the hilt construction.

With its blunt blade, balanced handling and SK-A combat quality classification, “ROGER” is particularly suited to reenactment combat and historical portrayals. It can also complement living history presentations as well as stage, photography, film and television productions.
