Children’s Shoulder Fur – Nordland Sheep, Black
This black children’s shoulder fur is made from genuine Nordland sheep fleece and designed as an accessory for Viking and medieval portrayals. It complements outfits for LARP, reenactment events and medieval markets while providing additional warmth.
The size is adapted for children, covering the shoulders without extending too far down the back. It can be secured with a brooch or suitable fastening and combined with tunic, belt and trousers to create a coherent Nordic look.
Nordland sheep are a hardy northern breed known for their dense and durable fleece. The hair length ranges from approximately 10 to 15 cm, giving the shoulder fur its characteristic texture. As a natural product, each piece shows individual variations in color, pattern and structure.
While there is no clear historical evidence that Vikings specifically wore shoulder furs in this form, the practical use of animal pelts for warmth in northern climates is historically plausible.
