Viking Hood Eske – Skjoldehamn Reconstruction
The Viking hood Eske is inspired by the famous Skjoldehamn find from Norway, dated to the 10th–12th century. It combines historical accuracy with high-quality craftsmanship.
Made of 100% wool in brown diamond twill weave, the fabric features the characteristic diamond pattern created by alternating yarn colors. Subtle embroidery along the hem enhances the historical appearance.
Typical design elements of the Skjoldehamn hood – such as the pointed front with inserted square panel – are incorporated into this reconstruction. The hood covers head, neck and shoulders, offering reliable protection against wind and cold.
An adjustable cord at the back allows flexible fitting: tied at the front it secures the hood in strong wind, tied at the back it adjusts the width individually.
Suitable for Viking, early medieval and high medieval reenactment outfits.
