Viking Axe Type D – hand-forged beard axe in Nordic style
The axe was one of the most important tools and weapons of the Viking Age. It was used for woodcutting, shipbuilding, house construction and combat alike. Due to its versatility, it became an essential item for many Nordic warriors and craftsmen.
This hand-forged Viking axe is inspired by historical examples classified as Petersen Type D – a well-known style of early medieval Viking axes. The characteristic beard axe blade shape gives it an authentic Nordic appearance.
The blade is made from carbon steel and hand-forged, while the sturdy ash wood shaft provides a traditional look and comfortable handling.
This axe is ideal as a collector’s piece, decorative display item or prop for Viking and medieval reenactment. Due to its material thickness, it can also be individually modified, such as sharpening the edge or rounding the corners depending on the intended use.
